Morning Song

A morning song starts to rise,
Fresh light conquers darkened skies,
New mercies shine on me.

I start the day satisfied,
Breakfast of Words is my guide,
Joy and wonder fill my soul.

Lord, raise up songs like the sun,
Send rays of praise from my tongue.

I will sing of Your mercy,
I will sing of Your mercy,
I sing of love and mercy.

My morning prayers rise on high,
Dark thoughts gone, left in the night,
Wrestled away by The Day.

I send more prayers to Your throne,
The conversation goes on,
Love and mercy never end.

When the evening comes to me,
I dream of eternity,
Forever in morning song.

Behind the lines

I’m grateful for new mornings and new mercies and love that never ends.  One of my favorite passages is Lamentations 3:21-26:

But this I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”

The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.
(Lamentations 3:21-26 ESV)

One day the mornings will never end for those who are in Christ. No sickness, no sin, no death, and no darkness.

Are you ready for eternity?

  1. I love this song. The words glorify our God and make me stronger. I need Him every hour of the day, but in the mornings we start a new day and my thoughts turn to Him in prayer.
    Good job Timothy,
