Garden Walk

Trees touched by a tender breeze,
Fruit falls near a garden pool,
Flowers fitted in their best,
And the ground was damp and cool.

God goes on a garden walk,
Sweetly smiling as He strides,
Attentive to the animals,
He calls to Adam who hides.

Pure and precious garden walk,
Prior to that deceitful day,
The garden of God and man,
Now blocked by angel’s flame.

God goes on a garden walk,
He kneels and begins to pray,
Christ cries out to His Father,
As blood and sweat pour away.

His blood would flow,
His blood would flow,
His blood did flow…

God goes on a garden walk,
As they find the empty tomb,
The Gardener is Jesus,
And the church began to bloom.

His fame would grow,
His fame would grow,
His fame did grow…

Behind the lines

I like how the Bible ties the gardens together from The Garden in Genesis, to the Garden of Gethsemane, to the Garden tomb, to the final garden in Revelation where the Tree of Life still grows.

One of my favorite hobbies is gardening. I love to walk to the garden and see seeds sprout, grow and produce their fruit. There is a lot of symbolism in the garden with the rising of seeds from their grave to produce their flowers and fruit.

One of the saddest times of the year is when the summer garden can no longer produce.  That day came recently and I had to pull up the old plants that I had cared for all summer and till the soil. The walk to the garden was quite difficult that day.

I long for a future garden walk. A garden walk with The Gardener in the cool of the day.
