See the sun set in the west,
Clouds colored their very best,
God’s art showcased in the sky.
Watch the moon change waxing by,
As the stars dance in the night,
God’s art dazzles in the dark.
You paint with brushes of grace,
And shape Your pottery from clay,
You create and display Your art,
You make us new and set apart,
You make us new,
You make us new.
You dip Your brush in crimson,
Prepare Your works for heaven,
Each stroke sanctifies the soul.
You preserve Your pottery,
Baptized by fiery sea,
Your art is a masterpiece.
Every shade of color, tint, and hue,
Give reason to worship You,
Mighty oceans and the sky of blue,
Give reason to worship You.
Behind the lines
The Amazing Artist:
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork (Psalm 19:1 ESV).
But now, O LORD, you are our Father;
we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand (Isaiah 64:8 ESV).
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV).
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10 ESV).
