Vibrant life drips through wide eyes
And soaks the mind with colors
Fresh glimpses of varied scenes
Captured by lenses of grace
Sweet images stored to heart
Now retrieved through pain’s window
Former views once crisp and new
Clouded by gentle raindrops
Behind the lines
Depending on your age and life stage you may read and relate to this poem differently. Each life is a unique story captured through many lenses from baby eyes to death’s door.
What is your life story? Which chapter are you in? What are some images that come to mind? What do others see? What does God see?
Only by God’s grace can we see Him for who He truly is (through the second birth). Have you seen your sin through the lens of the cross?
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day (John 6:40 ESV).
So True Timothy. I’m glad I will be raised up by Jesus on the last day. He is my hope. If I look at myself I don’t have much hope, but when I look to Him I have Peace.
