Mountain Meditations

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. (Psalm 90:2 ESV)

In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. (Psalm 95:4 ESV) Note the car on the road…

Ere God had built the mountains,
Or raised the fruitful hills;
Before he filled the fountains
That feed the running rills;
In me, from everlasting,
The wonderful I AM,
Found pleasures never wasting,
And Wisdom is my name. (William Cowper)

Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together (Psalm 98:8 ESV)

From mountains near the sky,
Let his high praise resound;
From humble shrubs and cedars high,
And vales and fields around. (Isaac Watts)

Unshaken as the sacred hill,
And firm as mountains be,
Firm as a rock the soul shall rest,
That leans, O Lord, on thee. (Isaac Watts)

For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name! (Amos 4:13 ESV)

[10] And,
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; [11] they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, [12] like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.” (Hebrews 1:10-12 ESV)

From your lofty abode you water the mountains;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
(Psalm 104:13 ESV)
