The Question

Who has measured the LORD’s Spirit?
Who breathed so man might live?
Who taught God the path of justice?
What counsel did man give?

Whose hand has weighed all the waters?
Who made the mountains rise?
Who sits above the earth’s circle?
Who stretched the starry skies?

Who does not faint or grow weary?
Who gives man strength to breathe?
Who compares, says the Holy One,
Who compares to Me?

Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
He is the Everlasting.

Behind the Lines

To whom then will you liken God,
or what likeness compare with him?
(Isaiah 40:18 ESV)

To whom then will you compare me,
that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
(Isaiah 40:25 ESV)

Who is like me? Let him proclaim it.
Let him declare and set it before me,
since I appointed an ancient people.
Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen.
(Isaiah 44:7 ESV)

Your righteousness, O God,
reaches the high heavens.
You who have done great things,
O God, who is like you?
(Psalm 71:19 ESV)

Who is like the LORD our God,
who is seated on high,
who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
(Psalm 113:5-6 ESV)

Jeremiah answers when comparing man’s idols to the Everlasting God:

There is none like you, O LORD;
you are great, and your name is great in might.

Who would not fear you, O King of the nations?
For this is your due;
for among all the wise ones of the nations
and in all their kingdoms
there is none like you. (Jeremiah 10:6-7 ESV)

May we forever worship the Everlasting, Self-Sufficient, Righteous, and Wise God through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. There is none like Him. Nothing compares to the Holy One, and no one can come to the Father except through Christ.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV)
