New Smiles

God’s gift of life,
First opened eyes,
Nothing joys the heart like new smiles.

The funny talk,
From those who walk,
Nothing joys the heart like new smiles.

Smiles in the morning,
When they don’t sleep at night,
Smiles at the table,
Though food they fight,
Smiles in the dark,
Yeah, they have your heart,
Nothing warms a home like new smiles.

Crawling cruiser,
Stain remover,
Nothing joys the heart like new smiles.

Diaper parade,
More laundry saved,
Nothing joys the heart like new smiles.

And through all the coffee afternoons,
Little smiles and lullaby tunes,
You can’t make the hands rewind,
So live life one smile at a time.

Behind the lines

Four wonderful children.

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
the fruit of the womb a reward.

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one’s youth.

Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!

(Psalm 127:3-5a ESV)
