Why do I long for the wealth of this world,
Where thieves steal and moths destroy,
When there’s a Treasure, reigning forever,
In the realm of endless joy?
Left to myself, without riches of grace,
I think of where I would be,
Grasping for things that quickly fade away,
Drowning in an angry sea.
Behind the lines
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight (Ephesians 1:7-8 ESV).
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8 ESV).
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:19-21 ESV).
