The Blood Dripped

The blood dripped on the broken ground,
Covering the sand and stones,
With each drop the earth trembled,
And the Son of Man groaned.

The blood dripped and the dust was stirred,
Moved by Great Weight and the Wind,
The dust was blown away by Love,
For this Man had never sinned.

The blood dripped as the flies gathered,
To drink from the Son of God,
Their feet washed by His royalty,
A foretaste of what’s to come.

The blood dripped as He breathed His last,
Under a darkened sky,
Then it flowed down the metal spear,
Mixed with water from His side.

The blood dripped on the rough cut wood,
Made for murderers and thieves,
The tree without roots would bear fruit,
Nourished by the Prince of Peace.

The blood dripped, the blood dripped,
From the Son of God…

Hebrews 9:22…without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

Lord of Mercy, who can dwell?
Who can live behind the veil?
Who is blameless? Who is right?
Who dares enter Clouds of Light?

Who is able? Who shall stand?
Who completes all Your commands?
Who is faultless? Who is good?
Who is cleansed by bulls and blood?

Lord of Mercy, who will pay?
I have no lamb and I’m afraid,
Am I helpless? Who will come?
Who will lead me safely on?

Who will ransom? Who will plead?
Who will enter in for me?
Who is spotless? Who is pure?
Who can walk there and endure?

Lord of Mercy, who can dwell?
Who can live behind the veil?

Behind the lines

O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;  who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;  in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things shall never be moved. (Psalm 15 ESV)
