God of Forgiveness

Verse 1
Blessed are those who are forgiven
Blessed are those who’ve been covered
All blessings to those whose sins are no more
All whom Jesus has purchased

For You are a hiding place for us
You have provided deliverance
And You make us safe under your cross
Where we cry, “It is finished”
Cause You are the God of Forgiveness
Yes, You are the God of Forgiveness

Verse 2
We repent and acknowledge our sins
We confess our hearts like to wander
But we know our help comes from You, Lord
And Your promises are certain

You are our Strength for today
You are our Hope for tomorrow
You have freed us from the weight of sin
By becoming a Man of Sorrow

Psalm 32

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him.
You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.

Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.
Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Don’t send me away in anger
To the hell you’ve reserved
Don’t send me to fiery torment
Though that’s what I deserve
Don’t forget about your mercy
Please remember your love
I’m innocent in You, O Lord

For you declare me innocent
Hidden from the wrathful flood
You declare me innocent
By the Righteousness of God
You declare me innocent
Cleansed by priceless blood
I’m innocent in You, O Lord

Don’t count me among the wicked
Though I’m a hypocrite
Don’t see my pride, lust, or failures
Which I have to admit
Don’t forget undeserved kindness
Cause I’m clinging to it
I’m innocent in You, O Lord

Pardoned, my guilt is clear
Adopted, I’ve been brought near
Forgiven, no sin remains
Restored, with a heart that’s changed

Psalm 26

May my lips be honoring,
And my thoughts acceptable,
Fill my heart, overflowing,
Until my soul’s worshipful.

For You are my Redeemer, Lord,
And You declare my freedom, Lord,
You are the Perfect Word.

And though I’m a sinner,
You make me blameless,
Through all my error,
You make me blameless,
In spite of my failure,
You make me blameless,
You are the Perfect Word.

Your words cause great rejoicing,
They endure forevermore,
And by them there’s a warning,
In keeping them a reward.

Your law is correcting me,
Its power revives my soul,
And Your words are guiding me,
They are more desired than gold.

You’re the Word, Forever,
Blameless Savior…

Psalm 19:7-14

At the end of Psalm 19, David closes with, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.”

I thought it would be neat to start the song with these thoughts.
