Tree of Life

Sunlit Leaves

God created trees to be breathtaking,
Sunlit leaves with windblown branches shaking,
Grown for His glory to give us life.

God gave two trees a name in the Garden,
One produced fruit that required a pardon,
Grown for His glory to give us life.

God raised up a tree for a cruel-cruel cross,
Where His sacrifice would redeem the lost,
Grown for His glory to give us life.

Tree of life,
Tree of death,
New life would rise,
From your last breath.

Behind the lines

I started this poem over a year ago and recently came back to it after taking these photos on a family outing in the woods.  I’m thankful for trees and The Tree. What has God shown you recently in creation?

The Bible says we are without excuse…

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse (Romans 1:20 NIV).
