The Throne Of Grace

This encouraging hymn by Samuel Medley (1738-1799) is based on Hebrews 4:16 and can be found in Gadsby’s Hymns (#382).

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Dear Lord! to us assembled here
Reveal thy smiling face,
While we, by faith, with love and fear,
Approach the throne of grace.

Thy house is called the house of prayer,
A solemn sacred place;
O let us now thy presence share,
While at the throne of grace.

With holy boldness may we come,
Though of a sinful race,
Thankful to find there yet is room
Before the throne of grace.

Our earnest, fervent cry attend,
And all our faith increase,
While we address our heavenly Friend
Upon the throne of grace.

His tender pity and his love
Our every fear will chase;
And all our help, we then shall prove,
Comes from the throne of grace.

Dear Lord, our many wants supply;
Attend to every case;
While humbled in the dust we lie,
Low at the throne of grace.

We bless thee for thy word and laws;
We bless thee for thy peace;
And we do bless thee, Lord, because
There is a throne of grace.

Another Day Strong

italy-2080072_1280

Some days are harder than others
Without your curves under the covers
Waking up knowing I’ll never hold another…like you
But then there’s days when I think everything’s gonna be alright
And nights when my heart tells me I’m gonna survive
Without you snuggling by my side

Another day gone, another day strong
I’ve gotta long way to go, down this lonely road
I don’t feel like I’m getting far, when I’m missing you so hard
But I’m praying one day at a time, since you’ve been gone
I’m another day strong

Some days I’m haunted by your face
Driving by spots where we used to date
Sometimes you appear in crazy ways…out of the blue
Like hearing that song you always sang the wrong words to
When a caller on the radio sounded just like you
Catching the scent of your perfume

I’m moving on, never the same
Changed by love, changed by pain
But your memory will never fade

Another day gone, another day strong
I’m another day strong

Alive

jesus-3279901_1280

Resurrected, and…
Alive! I…I have seen Him
Go tell the others!

Behind the lines

Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her (John 20:15-18).

…“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live…(John 11:25).

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Finished

good-friday-3243347_1280

He cried, “It’s finished!”
The Creator breathed His last
Death soon defeated

Behind the lines

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,”
and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
(John 19:30)

So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So because of the Jewish day of Preparation, since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
(John 19:40-42)

He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where he lay.
(Matthew 28:6)

The Purpose Of Our Lives

target-755802_1280

Our sin leads to death and heartbreak
Makes life a headache
And this world leaves us
Dissatisfied

Our hearts long for something higher
A Consuming Fire
Who’s grace fights for us
Until we cry

There is no other
Sisters and brothers
Nothing compares to
The Savior seated on high
Let’s tell the world this truth
And live to glorify
The Purpose of our lives

Lord, we question what your Word says
We have our own plans
We lose our way when
We look within

But You have told us to trust You
In all that we do
Not to trust ourselves
For we’re not God

Lord, when we don’t know what to do
Our eyes are on You
When we don’t know what to do
Our eyes are on You
Lord, when we don’t know what to do
Our eyes are on You…
The Purpose of our lives

The Battle

knight-321443_640

The battle rages
But Christ is victorious
The serpent’s head crushed

Behind the lines

The LORD God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all livestock
and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:14-15)
