The risen Lord reigning Supreme,
Lightning flashes from the scene,
Visions of You upon the throne,
Beauty unknown, beauty unknown.
Before Your throne in awe and peace,
Your praises rise and never cease,
Chorus of sound with each reprise,
Your praises rise, Your praises rise.
Lost in worship before the throne,
Singing to the Holy One,
Let praises raise, let praises rise,
Let praises raise, let praises rise,
Let praises raise, let praises rise,
For the glory of Jesus Christ.
Back to the world with sin and graves,
So much darkness, but Hope remains;
I see Your cross and empty tomb,
And all I have cries out to You.
For all will see the Holy One,
The risen Lord and Son of God,
You will return in the skies,
Let praises raise, let praises rise.
I’m lost in worship of this God,
Perfect in Christ, but once was flawed;
I see Your cross and empty tomb,
And all I have cries out to You.
Behind the lines
The Bible gives us several visions of “The Throne of God” including: Isaiah 6:1-7, Ezekiel 1:26-28, and Revelation 4:1-11. Isaiah was undone (6:5) and said “Woe is me”, Ezekiel falls on his face (1:28) and John (when his vision begins in Revelation 1) falls before the feet of Christ as though dead.
These passages also give us several wonderful verses to sing to God:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!”
(Isaiah 6:3 ESV)
“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”
(Revelation 4:8 ESV)
Then Revelation 5 reveals more worship to Him:
Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”
And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
(Revelation 5:11-14 ESV)
May you be moved to worship the Lord Jesus Christ!
