Name

omega-nebula-11053_1920

I see Him seated on the throne,
As untold voices rise and fall,
I feel the power of His song,
As we sing the Name above all.

Lord, how majestic is Your Name,
It is glorious and higher,
You have the Name above all names,
And we’ll praise Your Name forever.

The lightning has many colors,
There is thunder from angel’s wings,
But nothing quite matches the sound,
Of the Name sung by the redeemed.

In the presence of great wonders,
The heavens still declare Your praise,
The new earth has so much beauty,
But it’s Your Name our voices raise.

Behind the lines

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth (and heaven)!

You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8 ESV)

Voices

speech-icon-2797263_1280

My ears are full of doubts and deceitfulness,
Coming from destructive voices in the grave,
Now I’m groaning inside because of their lies,
And they will not cease until You come to save.

For You are not a God who delights in sin,
So silence the enemy in Your justice,
Protect me from their noise and I will rejoice,
Along with those defended by Righteousness.

Lord, give attention to the sound of our cries,
As we join the voices singing for Your fame,
Our tongues have been raised for Your glorious praise,
Because You are The Voice of all the redeemed.

Behind the lines

Psalm 5 ESV
Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray.

O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you.

The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction;
their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels;
because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against you.

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD;
you cover him with favor as with a shield.
